Note - This turned out to be a bad joke -
nothing came of it.

Bandwidth comes to Highland Park
Is the electronic drought coming to an end? Perhaps.
Today, Colin communications Inc. and Highland Park officials
announced that they were putting the finishing touches on an exclusive
agreement that would place the City on the electronic map.
Rebecca
Justice said, "We expect to have the McGregor Library
wired for public use by September." When asked why it will take so
long, Mrs. Justice responded that considerable infrastructure
improvements had to be made before the institution would be able to go
online.
Colin communications Inc., which has been involved with the City
for over a year is now getting the ball rolling, making broad band
access available to Highland Park's public institutions, as well as it's
private citizens.
"Accounts for private access is available as of now." Says
Mrs. Justice.
As most online Highland park citizens are aware, all the surrounding
Detroit Library branches offer public access to the web leaving the
McGregor Library the outstanding lone example.
While
Mrs. Justice made her comments, Mr. Colin, head of Colin Communications
Inc., posed for the camera with Highland Park Mayor Lindsey
Porter.
A tent was erected on the lawns of the McGregor Library for the occasion,
complete with libation for the participants.
It will be interesting to see if Colin Communications Inc will offer competitive
prices to the public - and if their timeline for getting the McGregor
Library up and running will succeed. Time will tell.
What follows is the promo sheet offered to the public
and press by Colin Communications:
