Alan
Franklin at Alvin's 1994
Alan's songs and lyrics became the mainstay of the Layabouts by 1984.
Over a short period of a half a year, he wrote such tunes as "Donna Lewis", "Governments lie"
"I'm Tired" and the band theme tune, "Fuckalot". His inexhaustible rhythms and licks assured any
audience of a continually changing theme. The Layabouts became hard to pigeonhole; their
style covered a broad spectrum of music culture.
As you can see in this picture, Alan even managed to find a way of keeping his guitar
picks in sight. He still brakes strings like they're going out of style. |
