Sitting on the beach
Flourescent clouds
the City of Puerto Vallarta
gaiety and laughter
I am alone
and I hear the ocean breathe
pounding its rock strewn shore
Venus sets
Sodom and Gomorrah light the surroundings
assuring me of their temporary presence
I am alone
I don't want to turn around
It is too painful
The ocean crest foam is lit by city incandescence
I envy the ocean
and drink mezcal on the shore
for a star filled moment
I wish I were the ocean
and not a man
another sip of mezcal and I will turn to face my fellow man
like a pillar of salt
