Known to some of the locals as "The Mean Green
Washing Machine" because of it's unusual hue of
green. The Christopher Columbus is the most exclusive,
and most expensive hotel in town. The English version of
"Honduras this Week" can be obtained in the
lobby and departure and arrival information for flights
are also available here. The airport runway is owned by
the same company that owns Islenia Airways and the hotel,
so you might say that they have quite the lock on air
travel. If you are flying in and staying at the
Christopher Columbus Hotel, the plane stops right outside
the hotel. You can't beat that for convenience.
The Bahia & Gringo bars are right next to the hotel, so it's the perfect place to get a snack before you step on the plane.
