Trujillo town plaza

From town Plaza, looking South.

The social center of any self-respecting Honduran town is the plaza and Trujillo is no exception. From dawn till dusk, some kind of social interaction goes on here. Especially in the evenings, when evening classes finish. That's the time when the plaza truly comes alive. Youngsters of all ages converge on the plaza cafe for a refreshment before they settle down to gossip.
The park has benches and large, shady flowering trees and a water fountain. There never seems to be a time of the day when birdsong falls silent.
Above the cafe is the town library where Honduran literary works can be found. This area also contains the FUCAGUA (National Parks Department). Here you can obtain passes here for entering the local national park.
